B Dolan’s “The Wound Is Not The Body” Tour

Making up for lost time, hip hop artists B. Dolan is back on the road touring his new album “The Wound is Not The Body“. After going on hiatus due to the Pandemic and taking care of an spinal issue which required emergency surgery, B. Dolan has emerged refreshed, energized, and seemingly ready to take on the world with a new outlook on life. The new album, launched earlier this past Spring of 2024, dives immediately into why he took time off (“the only rapper two-stepping with a metal spine”), and features myrid characters addressing aging, touring/traveling, the state of hip hop, and beyond. The Wound is one of his most introspective and reflective albums to date, and this was on display when he took the stage at Trill Hip Hop Shop in Phoenix, Az. An incredibly intimate show, every song was prefaced by a story or tale about it’s creation and reason for existing. From stories from the road to tales of family and friends, woven together intricately by B. Dolan solidifying his status as a true veteran of the independent hip hop scene. Focusing mostly on newer tracks from “The Wound is Not The Body” (“The Traveler”, “The Rock Cried Out”, “Turn A Mil”l), B. Dolan sprinkled in long time fan favorite tracks from across his vast discography, including “Rats Get Fat” off of 2015’s “Kill The Wolf”, “Earthmovers” off of 2010’s “Fallen House, Sunken City”, and “Which Side Are You On?“, a powerful protest anthem sampling Pete Seeger’s 1940’s rendition. B. Dolan is finishing up his stateside tour now, and two-steps across the Atlantic later this fall to continue the party in the UK.
