The band Death was an enormous influence in the metal community, and has proven that they still are at the forefront of the genre. Chuck Schulder (RIP) was one of the main driving forces behind the band ‘Death’, and his death had a huge impact, leaving a legacy of incredible music behind him. Death to All is the band that brings us the essence and passion that Death brought us all those years. More than a tribute band, Death to All who offers everything the fan base misses and loves about the original Death. Bobby Koeblele (guitar), is the lone original member from Death, and playing alongside him is Max Phelps (guitar & vocals), Gene Hoglan (drums), and Steve Digiorgio (bass).
The Nile in Mesa, AZ, played host Death To All, and the venue was packed. I’m not sure if it officially was a sold out show, but it definitely felt that way from the energy in the building. The only downside to living in Arizona and seeing a metal show is the ever-present heat, and as everyone packed into the venue, the heat and sweat were very much present. Death To All is straight-to-the-point metal powered by the music of Death. Despite the oppressive heat laying upon the crowd, everyone in the venue was rowdy, the floors were shaking, and fists and metal horns were being thrown up into the air the entire time. There were no gimmicks or fancy light shows; it was just pure death metal melting peoples faces off alongside with the 110 degree heat that night.
