In Oct 2017 photo editor Joe Abbruscato and photographer Devon Adams had the opportunity to cover the Saint Motel show at the Linq in Las Vegas, Nevada. Saint Motel’s PR people reached out with appreciation and an opportunity to have Doom cover a Phoenix gig a few weeks later. This week brought the boys back Phoenix for last night’s The Award Show at The Van Buren on 9/18/2023. With opener Juliana Madrid, Saint Motel had a set of new materials “Fine Wine” and older songs “Day Dream/Wet Dream/Nightmare” voted on from the crowd prior to the set. Always a fun and dynamic show, Saint Motel’s themed-sets add dynamite to their show, with front man AJ Jackson’s top shelf charisma spilling into the audiences, especially when he runs out through the crowd to sing, revel, and connect with all in attendance. This tour is 13+ and lots of fans brought their families along, introducing a generation to Saint Motel’s one of a kind Award Show, where by the end of the night, everyone considered themselves a winner for having been there.
