The Goddamn Gallows at The Nile Underground

Punk and metal stalwarts The Goddamn Gallows brought their dark, chaotic (yet melodic) legendary antics to The Nile Underground at the end of last month. Matching, if not amplifying, the kinetic energy set forth by co-headliners IV & The Strange Band who took the stage first, The Goddamn Gallows took no prisoners storming the small stage to turn those packed into the tiny venue into a swirling, whirling pit of bodies. For well over an hour, there was not a moment of (or need for) rest or respite, as Mikey Classic, Baby Genius, Jayke Orvis, Fishgutzzz, tore across their entire discography, as well as pulled out some killer surprised for those in attendance (which included a drum circle amidst a mosh pit and songs accompanied by every member of IV & The Strange Band and openers Volk). To close out the shindig, Mikey Classic relinquished the mic to Baby Genius, who stepped from behind the kit and launched into a throat tearing rendition of “Lets Join a Cult”.
