Cavalera Morbid Visions Tour Tempe az

The Cavalera Brothers announced they would be embarking on a national tour for their first album release, Morbid Visions (1986), the start of Sepultura and the Cavalera brothers. They also re-recorded this album with Igor Cavalera on bass, which has proven to be a successful choice. The Caverlera brothers have been on a mission with paying tribute to the original Sepultura albums. With the Beneath the Remains/Arise tour, Roots and songs off of Refuse/Resist. This was a night of thrash, death, and straight-up metal. With supporting acts Exhumed, Incite, and local legends Saintbreaker

The hype surrounding this show was huge because of the re-release of Morbid Visions.

Anytime the Cavalera brothers come back to Arizona to play a show, it’s always a family affair with beer and bodies flying around in the pit. The only thing that was lacking for this show was the crowd surfers, as I only saw a couple of them and expected people to be going crazy with that since they were playing the material that started it all. Don’t get me wrong, the pit was going crazy, and people were absolutely losing their minds hearing this album live.

Seeing Igor Cavalera (Healing Magic) on stage next to Max Cavalera and Iggor Cavalera made the whole experience come together. Having Igor on bass was a no-brainer, and if you ever witnessed him in healing magic, you’d know why this was the right choice. His talent and stage presence are right there with Max and Iggor, and he didn’t skip a beat!

Iggor is already a legendary drummer and should go down as one of metal’s most influential drummers of all time whenever he decides to give up his throne. I didn’t think I could be any more in awe of him after seeing him numerous times, but seeing him on this tour proved just that. His transitions were flawless, and he still hits just as hard all while being pint point precise with every hit.

When it comes to Max, I honestly don’t know how he does it or how he keeps up with everything he has going on in his career, and he should be given all the credit in the world. Max hasn’t slowed down, and his vocals are still top-notch. Morbid Visions is an album that doesn’t slow down, and the vocal patterns are fast and furious, and Max nailed every bit of it. It’s always great to see Max having fun on stage, and catching him smile while playing his music honestly puts everything into perspective.

From start to finish, this was a nuclear assault at the Marquee Theater in Tempe, AZ. For any old-school fans out there, this is the concert you must see and do not want to miss. Every part of this recording and live show came together, and it all translated nearly flawlessly as they performed it on stage.

I was born and raised in the Los Angeles CA and moved to Phoenix AZ in early 2020. Growing up, I was surrounded by musicians and artists who influenced my life. I've always felt a pull towards photography and finally have the opportunity to invest in my passion. I originally started out with street photography when I was a teenager. Then a good friend of mine asked me if I could take photos of his band and now I'm doing what I love, concert photography!
